HD Cable operates a Going Green policy
Global warming is one of
the most important issues governments around the world are aiming to tackle.
Climate change is caused primarily by the carbon dioxide released from burning
fossil fuels like oil, coal, and gas. But there is something we can do about it
- like choosing to go carbon neutral.
We have made a number of changes to
the day-to-day operations of our business, introducing a 'reduce, re-use
and recycle' attitude in the endeavour for HD Cable to go carbon neutral!
As such, we no longer produce
extremely unnecessary retail packaging for our mail order products; this
greatly reduces not only the throw away plastic product packaging but also
the size of the postage packaging as well. In fact, we strongly feel that our
cables don't need dressing up in order to sell them, the quality our cables
speak for themselves! A large amount of plastic and card used in retail
packaging is not only expensive, (thus increasing the retail cost of the cable
to you the consumer!) but it is also very un-environmentally friendly! We're
sure you'll agree.
Not only this, but they take up far
less room when shipping from our factory overseas. We can fit over 5 times more
cables within the same delivery, thus reducing the amount of deliveries we
require per month and reducing HD Cable's carbon footprint even more!
On top of that you've got to
consider the emissions from the plastic factory that weren't produced because
of this policy.
In addition to this we now operate a
paperless office substantially reducing our stored paperwork and other paper
usage and all waste paper is recycled.
All company vehicles have been
switched to vehicles classified as fuel efficiency band A.
We feel personally and as a business
that we have a responsibility to maintain a healthy environment. We know that
our impact may only be very small, but we do believe that if everyone adopted
this same attitude, then we could make a big difference together!
Donít forget, it is everyone's
responsibility to promote environmental good practice at all levels.
