DESCRIPTION....
I try to describe the item as accurately as possible. All major defects and any damage are noted. All measurements are given. Weight, Size, Dimensions, Condition, etc.
Photographing jewellery is difficult. Please understand that when selling from photos a few issues arise...
One of the major ones is the size of the object. Photos nearly always magnify so you can see as much detail as possible. This leads to the problem of raising the buyers expectations. PLEASE use a pencil, paper and ruler...this is a most excellent way to get a true idea of the size of the piece.
Colour is another issue. We all have different monitors so colour variation will occur. Most colours tend to be pretty close but RED seem to be a major culprit when using a digital camera. RED nearly always tends towards PINK. No way around that but by excessive editing which is not on, as far as I am concerned.
CONDITION AND WHAT MY TERMS MEAN...bearing in mind that the age of the item has a strong influence on the described condition.
NEW...brand new and never used.
NEAR NEW...Used but you would not find a blemish on the item.
EXCELLENT...Top condition with no damage, dents or scratches. May have a few very light scuff marks but still with a bright polish.
VERY GOOD...May have a few sratches and usage marks but NO dents or damage. Still some original polish. Stones may have very light abrasion.
GOOD...Showing scratches and marks with maybe some light dents and nicks. Stones may have some abrasion.
AVERAGE....Showing marks, scratches, dents and nicks. Stones may show scratches. Still a sound and wearable piece.
FAIR...Showing damage and some serious marks or repairs. Stones may be chipped and damaged. Still wearable.
POOR....Serious damage and wearing the piece may be an issue.
HALLMARKS...
I always endeavour to show the gold or silver hallmark. Not an easy task as some are tiny. Not all items of jewellery have hallmarks, be it from wear, repair, damage or just too small. RING SIZE...
All ring sizes are taken from a ring mandrel which shows the Australian and US sizing. There are many conversion charts on the net for other size scales. I will always indicate wether a ring is resizable or any issues with resizing a particular ring, however that will still be at your risk. We do not offer a resizing service.
