Why I have negative feedback.

I just wanted to explain why I have 3 negative feedback from one customer. Here's how it all happened.

Customer orders 4 different sets of fairy lights.

Takes 4-5 days to pay (no worries) and says sorry she was deciding which colour and then changed the colours of two of the fairy lights (no worries but she could have bought the chosen colour in the first place - no big deal though).

Eventually pays on a Saturday and all 4 lights are posted Monday from our warehouse in Thailand and will take 7-12 days as stated in the listings but I send her another email just to make sure she is aware.

10 days later I get an angry email saying that 2 of the light sets are missing and the order was posted late and this is really terrible.

I check everything here and we're sure we sent all 4 in the same box because we send 120 boxes a week and have a really good checking system and the stock count confirms that they must have been send. No problem. I have to take the customers word for it so I write back an apology and say I can't explain this but to rectify the matter I will send 2 more + an extra one for free for the inconvenience caused.

Customer then replies saying she does not understand why I can call it free when she has not received the items. Furthermore she thought that they were battery operated lights and how on earth can she use them at a wedding when the plug socket is 30 metres away and for this reason she says the lights are really not suitable for a wedding. Oh and can I tell her how she can fix them to a wall without leaving a mark and this is really not good service at all.

So you see - She's a nut job!

At this point I wanted nothing more to do with her so I did not send the 2 she says were missing. I then sent a full refund via paypal and sent cancel transaction requests via ebay and put her user ID on my blocked bidders list.

Then I sent her an email telling her what I had done and told her to keep the refund, keep the items and the postage I paid free of charge and that she could never buy from me again. I also pointed out that the items were posted the next working day, not late as she had complained, that while I do sell battery operated lights on other listings in my shop these were clearly marked as 220v mains powered at least twice in each listing she bought from and that it even talks in the listings about the different plugs I send out to different countries so she clearly did not read the listings which is surely a basic pre-requisite to buying online! I then mentioned about her asking me how to hang something on a wall without leaving a mark and asked if I bought something from her would I then ask her how to cook a chicken? I then called her an idiot. Something I do not regret because she clearly is and ebay would be a better place without idiots like her.

Then surprise, surprise, she accepts the cancel transactions and then writes me negative feedbacks for each of the items she bought. 2500+ positive and just the negatives from her. I really don't mind. I'll wear then like a badge. A badge that says we really don't want idiots on ebay.

Cheers
Ollie.
