Q: What warranty does Radioswap provide?
All used Radios, Chargers & Audio accessories come with a 14 day exchange only warranty. This gives you ample time to test your purchase and report any problems; it also allows us to keep our prices down.
Due to the nature of our business (Surplus and second user radio equipment), all products are warranted by ourselves and not the manufacturer as most of the equipment we supply is out of manufacturers warranty period.
Stated known faults are not covered by our warranty!!
Q: Do you take any payments other than Paypal?
Although we prefer to take PayPal, we also accept Debit & Credit cards (Not Solo or Electron) we do have security measures in place for fraudulent purchases and we may ask for additional identification. If we suspect fraud we will report the card and your eBay identity immediately to the police. We also accept Postal orders or you can pay cash direct in to our HSBC bank account. We do not accept cheques or dodgy wire transfers!!
Q: Do I have to buy a licence?
OFCOM requires all two way radios to be licensed, unless the radios are PMR446 licence free products. We generally recommend the UK General Business License at a cost of £60.00 for three years as this is suitable for most business applications. You do not need to purchase your license before buying our radio equipment, but you are supposed to have a license prior to operating high power business radios. Please note it is illegal to program high power commercial radios on to the PMR446 licence free band and we will not do this so please do not ask.

Q: What is the range of our radios?
A: Anything from 1-5 miles depending on the terrain. If any different then it will be in the listing.
Q: What is the condition of the used battery packs?
A: All second user battery packs are sold as seen with no warranty whatsoever. We generally supply at least two used batteries with every radio supplied as we assume some battery packs will be at the end or toward the end of their useful life. New battery packs are available for every radio we sell please call for a price, we will be happy to list anything you require to comply with ebays rules.
Q: What does back to back mean?
A: Any radios we say are "back to back" mean that you can use them as soon as you have bought and charged them. There will be no need to re-program them in order for them to communicate with each other.
Q: Why do some of the adverts say the radios have more channels than I actually get when I buy them?
A: Some radios we sell, (for example the Motorola HT600e radios) have a channel capacity of 99 channels. We however only program a small number of channels in to them as putting in the full 99 channels is vert time consuming. Different radios have different amounts of channels. If you are unsure about how many channels we will actually program into a radio by default then please contact us. |
